Vin Diesel has already made fans of “The Fast & The Furious” a promise.
Vin’s vowed that there will be a “Fast & Furious 7.”
And according to Universal Studios, it will be roaring into cinemas in the Summer of 2014.
“Fast & Furious 6” was just released to theaters this weekend. But already junkies of the car-chase series are begging for more.
“I don’t want to go too far ahead,” Vin told MTV News. “I found myself talking about ‘8’ yesterday, and I had to stop myself!” he laughed.
“I will say ‘7’ is a reset,” he confessed.
Vin’s co-star, Paul Walker, announced “[Vin’s] ability to manifest stuff is like nobody else in the business. I’ve been part of that for 10-plus years. It’s pretty impressive, that’s for sure.”
Diesel sez the series will start a third trilogy with “Fast & Furious 7.”
“We realized when we came back to the franchise [in ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’] that it would be a cool thing if we could connect all our movies,” he said. “That is, if all of our movies felt like a continuous ride…
“So if you look at ‘4,’ ‘5,’ and ‘6,’” he said, “you’ll see a continuous ride throughout where the films are speaking to each other.
“What we’re doing,” Diesel added, “is continuing the story. So when you go to see “Fast & Furious,” you’re expecting bookends, you’re expecting to pick up a little bit where you left off, and I think all of us collectively have done a great job of keeping the audience completely in the know.”
“At the core,” Vin continued, “our saga is about family, which I feel separates us from other action films…I don’t see any movie, especially a movie of this size and of this nature and of this kind of action content, that puts such an emphasis on family, but ours is organic. Jordana [Brewster]’s been my sister, so to speak, for 14 years. We were all coming into this movie fresh and we were brothers and sisters from 1999.”
“For better or for worse,” he said, “that’s what we are.”
