Here are the top ten current smartphones on the market…

There’s been some more new releases this month, but how does that affect our top ten?

10. Google Nexus 4


The Google Nexus 4 was at number six in our October countdown, but the new Nexus 5 has been released since then pushing the Nexus 4 to number ten. However, it’s still a great phone, worth buying if you’re on a budget.

Google gave the phone a great price drop a few months ago, leaving it at only $100 in the US and £159 in the UK. It has an 8MP camera, a 4.7 inch display and 2GB of RAM. It can be bought with either 8GB or 16GB of storage and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. However, it’s now upgradable to the brand new Android 4.4 KitKat!

9. BlackBerry Z30


The brand new BlackBerry Z30 has an 8MP rear camera, a great 5 inch display and is 4G LTE capable. It runs the Blackberry 10.2 operating system and has 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM.

It also has a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU.

8. iPhone 5C


Apple’s colourful new range of iPhones makes our number eight spot. The new iPhones come in a range of bright colours, and runs the new iOS 7 operating system.

It comes with either 16 or 32 GB of storage, a 4 inch display and an 8MP rear camera.

7. Samsung Galaxy Note 3


The huge Galaxy Note 3 is the best phablet on the market. The device is just a little smaller than an average tablet, and has a display of 5.7 inches!

It features a great 13MP rear camera, an Octa-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 CPU and either 16 or 32GB of storage. It runs on Android’s 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.

It can also link up with the new Samsung smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear. The device has notification and call making ability, meaning you don’t always need your phone in your hand.

6. Nokia Lumia 1020


The Nokia Lumia 1020 has a  1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Krait CPU, 32 or 64GB of storage, a 4.5 inch display, and runs on Windows Phone 8.

However, the main thing about the phone is the camera. It boasts a huge 41 megapixels, and is by far one of the best smartphone cameras ever!

5. Sony Xperia Z1


The Sony Xperia Z1 comes with a 20.7MP rear camera and 16GB of storage.

It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on a 2.2 GHz quad-core Krait CPU.

It’s the larger follow up to the Xperia Z, and has a large 5 inch display.

4. iPhone 5S


The iPhone 5S runs on the new iOS 7 and has an 8MP rear camera. It also has a 1.2MP front camera, and comes with a 4 inch display.

It’s powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core CPU, and comes with either 16, 32 or 64GB of storage.

The main new feature that’s been added since the previous model is a fingerprint scanner for extra security.

It comes in a variety of classy looking colours such as black, gold and grey.

3. Samsung Galaxy S4


The Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 13MP camera, 2GB of RAM and a 1.6 GHz quad-core Cortex-A15 CPU.

It also comes with awesome features such as the use of eye tracking for ideas like the Smart Scroll and the Smart Pause.

Also out now is the new Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. Its display is 0.7 inches smaller, the phone has slightly reduced specs, and of course, the price is lower.

2. Google Nexus 5


The brand new Google Nexus 5 has made it to number two in our countdown. The new LG designed Google phone comes with an 8MP rear camera, a 1.3MP front camera and either 16 or 32GB of storage.

It also has 2GB of RAM and a large full HD 4.95 inch display.

The Nexus 5 is the first smartphone to run the brand new Android operating system 4.4 KitKat. As well as this, the handset looks awesome!

1. HTC One


The HTC One keeps the top spot for another month. This awesome phone has a metal case and looks fantastic.

It also is packed with brilliant features – it has a 4MP & 2μm rear camera, a 2.1 MP front camera, and comes with 32 or 64GB of storage.

There’s also two other versions of the phone…

The HTC One Mini has similar specs, but a smaller screen. Unlike the original’s 4.7 inch display, the Mini has a 4.3 inch display. Apart from that, it’s almost identical!

The newer version is the HTC One Max. If the big 4.7 inch display isn’t enough, the Max has a huge 5.9 inch display!

It also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back to make the device more secure.
