Recently, gaming has been dominated by the release of new consoles the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

However, there’s a new line of machines that could take the focus away from the new consoles.

‘Steam’ can be downloaded to PC, Mac, and Linux computers, as well as PlayStation 3 and iOS/Android smartphones.

However, the gaming system is now launching a range of dedicated ‘Steam Machines’.

At CES 2014 earlier this month, 13 new Steam Machines were revealed. They’re made by a range of third-party manufacturers, and all run SteamOS.

Scan – NC 10


The Scan NC 10 comes with a price tag of $1090 and has 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage.



There are no details yet about Alienware.



The Alternate is priced at $1339 and has an Intel Core i5 4570 CPU. It has an impressive 16GB of RAM and a huge 1TB of storage.



The CyberPowerPC is the cheaper option for a Steam Machine, with prices starting at $499. It has 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage.

Digital Storm – Bolt II


The Digital Storm Bolt II is a lot more expensive than the CyberPowerPC, coming at $2,584. However, with  GTX 780 Ti graphics, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB storage, it’s probably worth it.

Gigabyte – Brix Pro


The Gigabyte Brix Pro doesn’t yet have a price, but does have 1TB of storage, 2 x 4GB of RAM, and an Intel i7-4770R CPU.

Falcon Northwest – TIKI


The Falcon Northwest Tiki is by far one of the coolest looking Steam Machines. However, with it being priced between $1799 and $6000 you can see why. It has a customisable CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN graphics, and up to 6TB of storage!



iBuyPower is one of the cheaper options in the new line of Steam Machines. It’s priced from $499, has 8GB of RAM, 500GB+ of storage and Radeon GCN Graphics.

Materiel.Net is priced at $1098, has 8GB of RAM, MSI GeForce GTX 760 OC graphics, and 8GB+1TBSSHD of storage.

Origin PC – Chronos


There’s no price for the Origin PC Chronos yet, but it’s probably going to be high – it has up to 14TB of storage with 4 Hot Swap Drives, up to 32GB of RAM, and 2x6GB NVIDIA GeForce TITAN graphics.

Next Spa


There’s no price set for Next Spa, but it has an Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and NVIDIA GT 760 graphics.



The Webhallen Steam Machine comes at $1499 with 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. It also has NVIDIA GTX 780 graphics.



The cool looking Zotac will only set you back by $599. Aside from the price tag, there aren’t many details confirmed. It will have an Intel Core CPU and NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics.
