Heyyyyyyyy sexy spice girl!
Tonight was the results show for X Factor Australia, and as we are down to the final 8, tensions were high to say the least.
Fan girls listen up, because up and coming boy band “The Collective” were voted through once again. They covered “Like A Prayer” the night before and got a mixed reaction, but it is fairly clear that they are the frontrunners in what has been the best competition on an Australian talent show in years.
Other acts that you might want to check out include Bella Ferraro, who was responsible for Birdy’s “Skinny Love” hitting Top 5 and staying there for weeks and weeks and weeks.
Seriously, surely everyone has a copy now?
Musical guests included last year’s winner Reece Mastin, who I’ve heard has a bit of a following in the UK. All you British #LilRockers should make yourselves known, because he is a rare talent!
Jay Sean also graced the stage, but the main event was the first live performance of Psy’s “Gangnam Style”, which took the roof off. He is amazingly energetic and sings surprisingly intune, even with all of his amazeballs dancing/horse riding skills.
Anyways, the night before there was a Facebook and Twitter poll as to which judge out of Ronan Keating, Nat Bass, Guy Sebastian and Mel B, the public would like to see get on stage and perform the famous gangnam style dance.
Alas, Mel B won the vote and after initially refusing to participate by shouting “ITS NOT IN MY CONTRACT”, she got up on stage and actually performed the routine. In a skin tight dress. In high heels.
#MelStyle is still trending as I type this, she totally tore it up.
After the performance it was the talk of Twitter and Facebook, with many YouTubers posting the small clip very soon after. Even Geri Halliwell tweeted her support for what was just a brilliant moment on Australian television.
We think Mel should team up with Psy for her next record, because dayum she can dance!
Unfortunately, singer Angel Tupai lost out to the public vote, but Perth girl Samantha Jade made it through for another week.
There isn’t long now until the finale, but there is a huge chance whoever wins the talent show will go on to international success – so watch out #OnePopzers, because you can always say you read it first!
