SENSITIVE singer Ed Sheeran has proved he is every bit as romantic as his lyrics suggest by admitting he’s the marrying kind.
The soulful star has played up his nice guy image by stating he would never want to be seen as a ladies man. And he says he wants instead to eventually settle down with someone special and say: “I do” awww!
The singer has an army of female fans who have fallen for his sombre eyes and deep and meaningful lyrics. But far from woing a long line of ladies – lovely Eddie says he would rather focus on meeting the right one. And he’d much rather be known for being a good guy than a romeo.
When asked if he’d like to spread around a rumour about himself being a great lover he replied:
“It isn’t very scandalous, but I’m gonna eventually settle down and get married, so that’s not necessarily the most important thing for me. I’d like to have a good reputation in the industry.”
So far so good as Ed is enjoying plenty of success musically.

And his already glowing reputation could be said to rocket as he prepares to play in The Olympics 2012 closing ceremony. The ‘Drunk’ star had previously teased his plans for the ceremony saying he “may or may not” be playing with a “big rock band”.
In an interview with Australian radio station Nova, Sheeran admitted: “I’m playing the closing ceremony – which I think is kinda cool right? “
He has now confirmed he’ll be playing with legendary band Pink Floyd. He said: “A lot of people think that I’m doing a song with The Who but I’m not – I’m doing a song with Pink Floyd. I’m doing ‘Wish You Were Here’.”
The opening ceremony saw The Artctic Monkeys and Dizee Rascal helping to steal the show, whilst Jessie J, One Direction and Sir Elton John have all been linked to the closing ceremony, which will celebrate the best of British music.
So Ed will need to put in even more hard work if he wants to stand out in such an impressive line-up.
But that’s never going to phase our Ed, who is no stranger to hard work and is prepared to do whatever it takes to keep his career soaring. The ‘Moments’ creator says: “I’ve always said I wanna be known as the nicest and hardest working guy in the industry, so if I could be known as that it would be brilliant.”
Well we at Onepopz already think he’s nice and hard working.
And whoever he eventually does settle down with in the future is one lucky lady.
