It took only minutes for Queen to sell out Madison Square Garden for its July 17th show.
Adam Lambert admits it will take longer for him, to get over the shock of selling out New York City’s most famous venue.
“We sold out Madison Square Garden!?!” Adam posted on his Twitter page last night. “Woah!! @QueenWillRock.”
Later, Adam jumped back in to tweet a little bit of frustration at his devoted Twitter followers, some of whom couldn’t correctly spell the late ex-frontman of Queen’s first name.
“It’s FREDDIE [Mercury] people,” he posted. “Not FREDDY. Sorry…But…Get it right!”
“Queen + Adam Lambert,” as the shows are being touted, are selling out all over North America.
Adam and the legendary British rock band will be hitting the road and crossing the United States, and heading into Canada, beginning with a June 19th gig at the United Center in Chicago.
The collab drew rave reviews when they rocked Las Vegas back in September.
“Lambert astounded the audience on songs like ‘We Will Rock You’ and the closing ‘We Are The Champions,’” wrote a review in Rolling Stone.
The Hollywood Reporter also glowed about the Queen/Adam pairing, calling it: “…the perfect mix of rock attitude, mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal, and impressive vocal gymnastics.”
In the meantime, Adam’s also been working on new studio material, and tweeting to his devotees:
“My new music is gonna blow your minds!!! Killin the Studio!!!”
Which legendary Queen classic are you Glamberts looking forward to Adam rockin’ the hardest?
